Martie Harris Mumford

Married in 1966 to Tom Mumford. Attended U of U and BYU - then started family! Full-time Mothering career began in 1969 and continues into current grand-motherhood - 27 grandchildren! Moved to Pullman WA from 1979-1995 where my husband worked in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church Educational System. Great place to raise a family! Returned to college at Washington State University in 1988; earned a B.S. in Social Science and M Ed. in Ed. and Counseling Psychology from WSU. Returned to Sandy, UT in 1996. Worked as a high school teacher in Odyssey House and Horizonte High 1996-2011. Taught Music 105 at LDS Business College 1999-2009. Piano teacher all those years! Retired. Served three CES missions with Tom in Bellingham WA, Buena Vista VA at Southern Virginia University, and Hamilton New Zealand - Hamilton Institute and working with Young Single Adults.
We are now home from the mission and grateful for the opportunities we have had to serve in beautiful places, and among wonderful people! We now have served another mission in Nauvoo Illinois from October 2023 to October 2024 as Family History Specialists. Currently, we are serving in the BYU Pathway Online Institute program-teaching students in Africa.
Life is beautiful, and God loves us all!

I loved A'Capella with Mr. Christensen and being in "Sound of Music" with Mike Smith and Phyllis Olson, directed by Mr. Allred. I also loved accompanying the Seminary Choir with Brother Ralphs and Brother Chidister as conductors!
